Christmas Bible Study and Other Stuff

Today, we finished up week four of our Christmas Bible study.  We made timeline Christmas ornaments that contained a current picture and strips with five things the boys had done this year. Add the year tag and a jingle bell and it's a wonderful keepsake.

After reading the birth of Jesus account in Luke 2, we made angel and manger crafts.

Christmas Party

All summer we hosted two simultaneous Bible studies in our home.  We decided to invite all those families over for our first annual Vilaire Christmas party. (One family was ill and couldn't join us. We missed them so much!)

We had a wonderful time together!

Christmas story--reader's theatre style and Silent Night a capella

Gift exchanges--the girl's had a silly sock exchange, while our boys exchanged homemade/purchased ornaments.  The moms had a kitchen items exchange.  My husband decided the guys needed something to open, as well.  So, our exchange went something like..."Do whatever your wife tells you."  Every time two wives had to exchange gifts; so did their husbands.  It made for a fun way to do an exchange.

These three were the life of the party!

Flute Concert

Where has the time gone?  Our little boy started on the recorder when he was in 1st grade.  Now, he's in 9th and he's not a little boy anymore.

Seeing Daniel all dressed up made me realize just how much of a young man he has become.

He did a great job with the Silver Winds Flute Ensemble at their Christmas concert.  It's a joy to watch and listen!

It's a long wait for the concert to begin....
