My van has been in the shop since Thursday, so Michael and I decided to tag along with Tera while she worked on a service project for her chemistry class.  We spent four hours hiking, exploring and letterboxing at Ijam's Nature Center.

This bridge was wild...

A snake in a tree!  I walked right past it and didn't even see it.  JP came face to face with it at eye level but didn't hang around too long.  Before anyone thinks I'm really brave--my camera has a pretty good zoom!  

27 years--Happy Anniversary

 

Last Thursday, JP and I celebrated our 27th anniversary.  TWENTY-SEVEN years!!!  Wow!  

We celebrated by taking a day trip to Cumberland Mountain State Park.  It was a beautiful park with a wonderful history.  The Crab Orchard stone was gorgeous!  

This park has everything--swimming pool, recreation center, aviary, hiking trails, volleyball, mountain bike course, play grounds, a restaurant and a small museum devoted to the CCC that built the park--and more!

We started our day with a picnic lunch--there was no one there!  We went on a hike (another post on that) and went out to Chili's for dinner.  It was a great way to celebrate 27 years!
