Camp of Champs--Week 1

 

Michael is participating in the "Camp of Champs" at our fitness center.  Tera will be the teacher or co-teacher for all the camp theme days.  Twice a week--1.5 hours each time--pool party, soccer, fencing this week with more cool fun to come every week.

Then, a fencing class!  No pictures of fencing, but he had a great time and won the best footwork award!

Almost 4 miles 

Drizzly rain, missed the trailhead and climbed through a down tree, made it back to the trail, trail markings extremely under the miles we hiked, humid, lots of great conversation exploring new trails, lunch out at our favorite restaurant on the patio--rain started as we were finishing.  

 

Tennessee 4-H Healthy Living Summer Challenge

Michael registered for week 1's challenge in the Tennessee 4-H Healthy Living Summer program.  The first 50 4-Her's to register received an item in the mail to complete their challenge.  Michael was so happy to get his own mini-waffle maker to complete the week 1 challenge--a healthy recipe.  Banana-Oat Waffles and Egg Omelets.  He's made the egg omelets multiple times already!

A hour on a local greenway with a friend with lots of cool water fowl--blue heron (He was huge!), a red-winged blackbird and a double-crested cormorant.

More lawn darts with Michael

Michael and his Clover Bowl team won second in our region championship.  We celebrated with an ice cream party at the park.  I don't know if this picture is before or after he choked on a gummy worm and I almost had to do the Heimlich maneuver on him.  Fortunately, it came out before that was necessary.  It got my heart pumping, that's for sure!  

We also found out he is the 6th grade public speaking champion for the Eastern Tennessee Region!
