We got together with a group of friends recently. I taught a music lesson on Vivaldi's Spring. We made listening maps to go with the rondo form of the music. We practiced rondo form by labelling each section of music. Then we moved to each section with scarves. Each section of Vivaldi's spring stands for something in nature. A section= trees; B=birds, C=river, D=storm and E=sun. The sections go in order as follows: ABACADAEAEA. We also played our boomwhackers along with the story Mortimer and played Doggie Doggie Where's Your Bone?
We had a group math activity that frankly I had a hard time figuring out, but our kids hung in there and with a few hints they all successfully finished. Then we finished with pattern block pictures and a picnic lunch. We had such a fun time!
